Haus der Luege : Noli Evocare Quod Reprimere Non Potes

Probably not something that folks need to bother with reading.

***This post was started a month ago. I delayed finishing it, and instead had a conversation with her about the issue of sleeping in. After a month, little or no change has materialized, and so, I'm going wforward with the rant.***

I'm getting really tired of constantly having to fight with Draephon to get her ass awake and moving in the morning. I call her sometime between 9:00 and 10:00 most days during the week to wake her up, and 9 times out of 10, she's bitchy and resistant about it, and not in an amusing way.

Right now, she has a cold, and normally, I'd be willing to cut her a bit more slack in light of that, except that it's just an exaggerated version of the usual drag, and my patience is really running out with it. I'm fairly certain that she hasn't gotten up yet - it's 10:40 and I called at 9:30 - seeing as she's not online yet, and it's pretty much the first thing she does after pissing in the morning.

It's not just a matter of getting up and starting the day- it's that she seems to want to avoid responsibility for a lot of basic aspects of running the household. She won't take it upon herself to start projects for cleaning or organizing the house without prodding. And part of the deal is that on days; that her temp agency doesn't have assignments for her, that she work on maintaining the house while Kess and I are at work. While she will do certain tasks, the pattern overall is that she won't willingly take on tasks that will keep her away from the computer for more than a few minutes at a time. For example, she'll do several loads of laundry, which is good, and needs to be done, but the impression that I get is that it's simply becuase while the machines are running, she can fuck around at hte computer.

What particularly annoys me is that when I call her on this sort of thing, she likes to blame me, and the fact that I IM her from work. What she seems not to get is the fact that I'd rather she doesn't respond, since it might mean that she's AFK, working on something around the house, and being a contributing member of the household.

The real tragedy here is that Raven and I have had this discussion, and a number of others, a dozen times at least, and every time, she promises that it won't happen again, and everytime she lets me down- I don't mean that once in a while she sleeps in, I mean that she'll do okay for a couple weeks, and then just seems to say "fuck it", and lets it all fall apart.

As prone as I am prone to self-destructive behavior, even I can pull it together enough to make it to work most days with a minimum of fuss. Drae seems to think that any day she doesn't have a temp assignment is fucking summer vacation.
